Pop-ups are little windows which appear like your web browser, or like an
instant messenger window. Spammers and scammers are now using these
resources to either sell you a product, or commit fraud. You can protect
yourself by being educated in what not to do. What not to do, is respond to them
or follow any of the instructions given in them!.
We have received many messages from concerned user who have been made to
believe they are 'under investigation' or have committed some type of
crime. Usually the Spammer/scammer offers to remedy that (for a
price). We have helped those victims secure their machines and to
identify/report the offending advertiser.
You can stop the net messenger Pop-ups by following microsoft's
instructions. If you're not too sure about changing things in your
computer, you can still use StopMessengerSpam
to disable messenger services for FREE! Net Messenger pop-ups look much
like these collected examples of Net Messenger SPAM we've received.
